auto-rx 1st treatment / three vehicles

would like to use this in my three vehicles.
96 nissan pathfinder - 123k miles
97 dodge stratus - 130k miles.
97 dodge intrepid - 120k miles

used amsoil series 2000 0w30 for 1 yr. with oil and filter changes every 4k miles.
then switched to amsoil series 3000 5w30 HDD for the past two years with oil and filter changes every 4k.

cost is not all that important in regards to starting the cleaning and rinse process. i would like to use the series 3000 5w30 for both, but seems that conventional oil is prefered in the rinse phase. if the conventional oil is something that i must use, would you please list a few of the best ones to purchase.

i would think that the series 3000 5w30 HDD amsoil would have cleaned out my enginnes by now with the frequent oil and filter changes that i do.

also since my cars have over 100k each, should i plan on a second dose of auto-rx?

kind of on the fence if i should or need this product.

I would use a very basic 10W30 like Valvoline or Walmarts SuperTech. You do not want a complex additive chemistry or base stock to interfere with the cleaning. I would use dino for both the clean and the rinse to see best results. Rember you are only talking about 1200 or so miles for the clean and about the same for the rinse. O wpi;d start with one treatment on each vechile then go back to your S3K 5W30. I would examine the rinse phase filter to determine if you need another treatment.

From your oil selection and OCIs, it looks like costs aren't an issue. I'd do one AutoRX treatment on each vehicle, using basic oil as JB suggested, and using the results to judge whether another treatment is needed. If you cut open the used oil filters from the AutoRX treatments that would give the best indication, along with any performance improvements such as increased compression values.

I'd also wait for the warmer part of the year to do this, since heat and oil flow will help the cleaning process, unless you have several long trips coming up or all the vehicles have a long commutes.

I agree here. He is using some good/expensive oil and think this item is not needed. If you really want to do it, try it on one car and see what happens.

Use the XL Amsoil synthetic which is a groupIII mineral oil basestock
for your rinse. Worked fine for my LT 1

I'm in the same boat, I'm just about finished with the cleaning phase, but I don't want to put in a conventional oil. I normally wouldn't mind, however, it's winter here and I don't want too much start-up wear and tear (because the conventional oil can't flow as well). Can anyone confirm this?

I used syn (M1) in my truck for all 200k miles and even though the engine parts which could be seen were spotless, the RX cycle still had an effect as it cleaned the ring packs such that the truck now has more power, etc. I would not have believed it either ...
