This filter was off a 2020 Chevy Silverado at work. Unknown miles but had check engine light that I diagnosed and fixed. Obviously not many miles on filter, BUT it’s TORN

Odometer reading 30,455 and OLM was at 90% so….

Put Safety Kleen 0w20 and another Auto Extra 618-10255 back in and on. I personally would NOT use this filter # or 618-57502 but our company likes using them.

True indeed. And weak flimsy filter material added to that and this will be the results.

And maybe I'm wrong here but those louvers being so nearly closed are not helping anything either.

I don't go how well louvers are formed by a "light test", I just look at them. If they don't look well opened to my eyes, it doesn't get bought.

I think it is due to photo quality that we don’t see the louvers clearly. The light trick in the one case I remember showed them open. It also showed that some designs have louvers with top and bottom openings instead of a one way opening.
