MICROGARD MGL 10290 CUT OPEN

This filter was off of a 2020 Chevy Equinox for 5k. Looks ok PZ-194 filter which crosses to Auto Extra 618-10290 went on along with Safety Kleen synthetic 0w20

This filter uses a metal clamp to crimp the media together. I'm seeing more filters eliminating this metal piece so it makes the glue job even more important. Good to see they still use the metal on these budget filters.

Really? Is it not reasonable to ask questions about the filters being posted in this forum? Just b/c you know something you expect others to know the same based on their time on the forum?

I’ll offer advice: the “search” function here works wonders. Something called Google was invented while back too. I just get tired of people asking stupid questions they can Google or search for. Is this too hard to do??

Well then by that same standard we can freely complain about your cut & post's. I'm sure a good chunk of the filters you've posted have already been posted here & you should have "googled" it before posting. Some people think it's stupid to post the same filter.

IMO I think those people are unreasonable with people seeking dialog. You're not seeking dialog that's for sure.

Thanks for the nice words. Please keep posting the filters. We shouldn't shut out communication w/each other. It's part of what we do to try & learn from one another. That's what makes these forums such a valuable place. A place where we can ask questions without ridicule & set our expectations as if the person genuinely doesn't know. That's where people like yourself with common knowledge helps the forum greatly. Please don't take these questions as being stupid etc. Think of it this way... If no one asked questions and provided answers there would be nothing we could "google".

The current microgards appear Purolator made. Cut one before Christmas break at work on lunch hour. Didn’t post pics. Baseplate had oval holes and date code format like ProTec I posted

It seems to me that lately all the filters are good, kinda like oil. All are fine, just decide how much money you want to spend and how many miles you want to use it for and close your eyes and pick one. That is what I do any more. Otherwise I would go loco (even more than I already am) trying to figure the best for me. Even though I have nothing better to do, I am too old for this.

Louvers don't look ideal IMO ... seen many filters with much more opened up louvers.
