2023 Chevy Malibu factory filter cut open

This is the factory oil filter off a 23’ Chevrolet Malibu LT at my work. 7k on it.

In: Safety Kleen 0w20 and Auto Extra 10290 Made in USA.

To add: adbv was thin black nitrile also; didn’t look anything like one used on E CORE filters either

I'm almost positive that's the reason.

Looks good & I've run a few Delco's in the past on the Saturn with no problem. The ecore really helps hold the filter construction.

I’ve ran hundreds of ECORE/CHAMP LABS FIlters with 0 issues.

I’ve done PM on 2.0’s that have same filter though so….

Also, not sure I’ve ever seen an Ecore, or an AC Delco filter, made in Korea before? Does Champ have a plant there?

If it is Champ .. then It's the same company that manufactures for Pentius.

I’ve done PM on 2.0’s that have same filter though so….

When I did my first oil change on my 17 Regal GS 2.0 had the same filter, switched over to Wix 57045, a bigger filter.

The smaller Nissan/Subaru PH6607 x-refs are made in China.

Yes I have seen some of the China made Champ filters.. but I don't think they have a factory.. I know they have an OFFICE.. but they are contracting everything from what I have seen.,, https://www.aftermarketnews.com/champion-laboratories-opens-new-office-china/
