Auto Dimming MIrror worth it?

It's not about laziness for me. I have no problems with manual features on cars -- in fact automatic features tend to bug me if they're simply "easier" versions of a manually controlled feature.

Like Nick and others here, I like my auto-dimming mirror because it works *better* than the manual mirrors I've had before -- the dimming is more progressive and it adapts itself to conditions continuously.

In any case I am never willing to pay for this stuff, unlike that fairly low cost TV with a remote you still have to cough up plenty to buy these option packages.

I forgot to add that I almost never watch ANY TV. So actually it wouldn't bother me to get up and change the channel, heck there are over 250 channels and hardly anything on worth watching .

Also, the auto-dimming rear view mirror usually comes with auto-dimming side view mirrors, which I've never seen a "manual" dimmer for. And dealing with headlights in the sideview mirror is a huge annoyance.

There really isn't much to go wrong with them.

Generally, I only flip it when it becomes pitch dark. Obviously, if somebody comes behind me without any light, I will not see them but I am hoping most boneheads drive without light only during dusk not when it is pitch dark.
