As mentioned a few pages ago,we use the same oils in New Zealand,with average temps over the country much lower.I don't think you'd find a workshop in the country that didn't have 15/40 in it's bulk tanks.Having been a mechanic for 40 years,engine failure from oil related problems are non existent.We don't have emission tests,and with small cars dominant in the nations fleet,economy is not a big issue.

When i was working in Saudi Arabia we were using Castrol 10w-30 API SJ rated engine oil in 47c+ ambient temperature with out any oil related problem.(GM Automobiles.)
