Anyone else notice that Autozone's oil change specials are paired with STP and Bosch filters instead of Fram? I wonder if this is some how an effect of Purolator's new ad campaign.

I get that. What I mean is, AZ used to use Fram filters for its oil change specials pretty religiously. This month there's no mention of Fram.

Yeah you're right, they usually run Toughguards with their mid-teir offerings. They are missing in action this month.

Haha not at all. I couldn't tell you the last time I used a Fram on one of my vehicles. I just found it odd that Autozone featured no Frams in their specials this month.

They rotate them around, but AZ features the orange can with oil filter promos more often than say AAP. Doubtful the Puro ad campaign is a factor.

Got the orange can on my car presently.

Next time you're in Edmonton (or wherever your closest Partsource is), keep in mind that Partsource is about a buck cheaper for the Fram Synthetic filter than is Canadian Tire, believe it or not. If they drop a couple more bucks, they might have my Wix beat. They have a ways to go to beat Hastings, though.

FRAM air filters are on sale at [censored] tire this week for $8 and change.

That's not bad at all, and I definitely like their air filters. Partsource was doing $1 off MIR on Fram air filters last month, but I already had replaced the air filters in the G and won't need more for a year, if I keep up my present rate of accumulating mileage.

It is kind of odd to have a $1 MIR when postage is over fifty cents, but such is life.

My AZ has fram filters with pennzoil in the recent circular.

Problem is it is 21 bucks with a fram filter (i forget what one, it was the mid-range one) for Pennzoil conventional...i can get a better deal at walmart with a purolator filter.

Not knocking fram filters, honestly they do work, i just perfer purolator as they are the ones who make the OE filter for my car. And also cost less than the cardboard based Fram.

The end caps are NOT cardboard. They are fiber.
