ATF type for PS fluid

02 Camry and 02 Dodge Caravan

Turkey Baster Method...

Sorry can't remember...what can I use, or what is recommended for PS fluid in those rigs? I think I used Val. Syn Power once? and I think I used red ATF?

Please advise.

Most people would agree that on non-Honda almost any ATF type would work. I've heard Mercedes may have problem using ATF but I don't think Camry or Caravan should have problem with ATF.

My MB E430 doesn't get along with anything but Maxlife ATF, it made a loud whining sound whenever I turned the steering wheel more than 20-30 degree after the car had been driven few minutes. It's quiet as new when I finish replacing the PSF with the full bottle of Maxlife ATF using the Turkey Baster Method. It had been more than 2 years and still quiet.

I used Castrol Synthetic ATF for my Subaru and it seems OK...

I have used Mobil 1 ATF in Ford PS pumps since Mobil first came out with synt ATF in the early 90s with never a failure.

02 Dodge Caravan? Willing to bet it's ATF+4....does it list anything on the power steering fluid "cap"?

My 07 yota says to use Dexron type.

Chryslers would use ATF+4 in the P/S system.

Toyotas would call for Dexron ATF.

Buy a multi-purpose synthetic and use it in both vehicles.
