Ford recommends Mercon V ATF OCI every 30K. MY last change was at 60K and I'm coming up to 90K in the next few months. My transmission is working smoothly....no problems.

I believe Mercon V is a semi-syn product. I'm looking for suggestions on a full-syn ATF that will work in my vehicle, and have longer OCI's (possibly 50K or 60K)...or should I just stay with Mercon V ?

I have used Mobil 1 ATF for many years in Fords with very good results.

40K shouldn't be a problem.

If Mercon V can do 30K...and Mobil 1 only 40K (per your quote)...what other advantages would there be to using Mobil 1 ATF other than a 33% longer OCI.

I believe the cost of Mobil 1 is close to double that of Mercon V

I have never had a transmission fail using Mobil 1 ATF at 40K OCI, so I continue to use it. 40K is my own OCI, as you may want to do something differant. As for cost, that has never concerned me. I found a quality product and will continue to use it. I have noticed when I change the fluid that it still appears to be very clean. Doesn't appear to need changing, but 40K is my number and with go with that, like 10K is my engine oil OCI, even though I could go several thou longer.
