ASTM TESTS OPINION

k&p filters right down the street here where all the different racing teams have their shops, nascar, scca, nhra...i know the owner..he is a perfectionist and loves what their company does.did endless tests on these filters..they use a dutch weieve 304 stainless mesh especially for high flows and filtering...

There is no doubt these steel mesh filters are the best for race car applications due to their super flow rates without incurring much pressure drop across the filter. I'm not so convinced yet if they would really gain anyone much in the end if used on their plain Jane daily driver vehicle.

as far as flow most likely an overkill, but i like over kill stuff. i know these filters will let no greater particles then 35u at 100% and even smaller particles nominal...remember, tested reg. oem paper filters and they remove no less then 38-40u and alot bigger with heat change and moisture....i know one of them is amsoil filter they are restrictive ..this stainless steel filter have virtually no restriction across the filter..most of restriction is in the oil gallies...if i can make it easier and better then i go for it...nice dis cussions here..

People have said this to me in phone calls after "reading it on BITOG"......

So can we actually have some proof? Not trying to start a stink, just trying to keep it real.

sorry pablo, i just took the word from the test they performed and no i have no proof my self for i was not interested in amsoil nor any other filter....so i withdraw my amsoil filter comment.i do know in my experience with amsoil oil filters couple of years ago. they made my engine very noisey in the mornings...took them off and put back on motorcraft and noises gone...this also goes for wix, napa, baldwin, donaldson, hastings and of course amsoil...went to stainless steel after that not a noise even in below zero weather..the above is just my experience....i have had enough of the paper filters!!..

Looking at the various particle counts posted here and on other websites there aren't too many of the larger particls etc. Just an observation.

I wonder what kind of an extended OCI the KP could handle. I like the idea of never having to buy a filter again but will it handle 10K+ OCI's.
have you ever done a used oil analysis w/KP filter? nevermind missed that post.

it can handle 10,000 oci so i been told no facts..i have gone 6000 miles with no problems..inculded in their tests when the filter is 75% plugged it still out flows a paper filter...i have no document on this i know what i was told by owner it which i know...he has a great reputation...so far everything he has explained to me has been true.
