ON, Canada eh?
Ok I know there is a lot of rhetoric on here about AUTO-Rx and I don't want this to become a bashing thread.

Personally it has done a good job in the 2 engines I have used it in and I was happy with the results for the price paid. I do run it for twice as long though.

Anyways... I recently dumped in a half-bottle into my transmission and I'm already seeing impressive results. The colour of the fluid didn't change within the first 100 KM's of driving but since putting on 200 it's now changing colours and I can see clutch residue showing up in the oil that didn't before so I think it's definitely cleaning things up.

The shift quality has improved as well in all respects.

I'm trying to locate a decently priced 3/8" Magnefine filter to add inline from my cooler lines so that I can cut it open later to see all the junk it has caught with this new fluid that is in there with the Auto-RX.

Just wanted to let y'all know of this positive experience.

I can think of nothing that substitutes for Auto-RX. Glad you finally are giving it a chance to work.

It did two good things on my car and I only expected it to do one thing. The sponsor here is as cheap as the other company I used to buy the magnifine filters from.

I'm a believer in the stuff because of what it did for the 2 engines, but even more so now within the few short km's and the ride change.

I can't wait to take it on the 10 hour round trip to/from Ottawa (nations capital) this weekend and really let it do its work on that hot long drive.

I will take after pics as I have taken before pics of the fluid in case of results like this...

Hey Stevie, if i ever ARX my car im going SuperTech and using twice the dosage and going Twice the recommended Intervals with it and taking as many "As hot as possible" 3 hour pllus Highway drives with it as well. That is, if its summer. If not, im doing long miles trips with it anyway.

This is, of course, after i pull the VC off the car and see how it looks like, give car a full tune up, put some Rotella T5 in there, and heat the Oil Pan up as much as i can, doing as much "Cleaning" with an HDEO or maybe PP as i can first.

Did we say No HDEO for ARX, or YES use HDEO with Shell Rotella T5, i forget?

No HDEO with ARX Cleaning. Yes afterwards. Double the mileage he recommends I find works better assuming you don't have a major sludging problem.

So because it's such a PITA to find a Magnefine filter at the moment and because I'm taking a long road trip this weekend (10 hours total) and can't order one at a decent price I have resorted to a full flow fine filtering diesel fuel filter that I'm going to install on my transmission line to collect the junk floating around with the ARX & Fresh Amsoil ATF doing their thing.

Here is what it looks like. I bought 2 and I'm thinking of sacrificing one to see what it looks like inside, I just need to be pushed...

Ok here is the filter cut open... It has a super fine screen that looks like it filter out really good amounts of particulate and will be perfect for my application without hindering the flow.

Installed the filter and it works great... The lines turned out to be 5/16 not 3/8" as it looked like from a slight distance so I made them fit on the 3/8" filter. At least it won't leak.

The funny thing was I disconnected 1 of 2 lines that are clearly marked to/from cooler in my technical manual and both ends of the line had fluid pouring out of them when I ran the car.

I thought, well maybe it was just bleading the system but this continued for almost 3 litres of fluid...

I'm not sure why, but whatever... I installed the filter and took it for a spin and let me tell you that filter is getting really hot with the fluid in there so it must be "pre-cooler" fluid.

Anyways, all is well. I red-lined it a few times on the back-roads here to test it for pressure etc. and all is well.

I love auto-rx in auto transmissions. Did it on my Volvo with impressive results. The fluid went from dirty red to jet black. Wife was surprised when she saw the color of D4 I put in afterward and that the black fluid should be red. Finally installed a magnefine but wish I had before I started the Auto Rx since Volvo put in a external trans cooler but no filter?!?!?!

My Hyundai goes from the transmission to the radiator cooler, then from there to an auxiliary cooler mounted in front of the radiator then back to the transmission.

Explains why my fluid is always cherry red in colour no matter how many miles I put on it, I guess!

Ok here is the filter# D139225 as I saw on my bill from the place I got it. It seems to be a generic filter that lots of people carry and I found this cross reference list of manufacturers that make the same sort of filter.

http://downloads.pfgaustralia.com.au/intranetwebcache/Parts/QuickRef/MC/Filter%20Referrence%20Guide%20%280808%29.pdf

So this should help you find it.

I will still check with the place to see if they know the brand of mine or it's just a China Express.

Cheers,

Steve

Ok I'm leaving for Ottawa (Ottawa area) tomorrow morning early and it will be 5 hours there, then a bunch of driving there and then 5 hours back.

So I would guess a good 15 hours of driving in total with the ARX in the transmission and the filter on the transmission line.

Should be interesting to see what comes out at the end of the cleaning cycle. I will have driven about 1400Km's (almost 1K miles) by the time I get back home on Wednesday. I'm going to leave the ARX in for 3K miles (5K KM's) before doing a fluid exchange with fresh Amsoil ATF.

Well I'm here in Ottawa and the 5 hour highway drive at 140km/hr mostly (3300 rpm) did the transmission really well I think because it's shifting smooth like butter.

The PEA based fuel cleaner I ran in the tank did well and I drove 500km's on 3/4 tank of fuel (72 litre tank) so that means I averaged 10.8L/100kms which is excellent because I usually average 12L with mixed driving City/Highway.
