CXT-10-LV6 vs CXT-10-LV12
I have a 2016 Ford Taurus with 6F50 transmission (3.5L v6 awd). The manual says use Mercon CXT-10-LV12 in Canada but at most places online here we have LV6 and one website says "CXT-10-LV6 (replaces CXT-10-LV12)". I believe it's a change in viscosity? The specification is WSS-M2C938-A Mercon LV. And in US and Mexico, it specifies XT-10-QLVC, which surprisingly enough I can get easily from Amazon in Canada.
The transmission already had one fluid change before i bought it last year. And it's due now for 2nd transmission fluid change. I don't want to mess anything up knowing transmission fluids have very less room of error. Is it true that Ford has now moved to LV6? Should I buy the LV6 or go with XT-10-QLVC?
