It is getting really cold here in the Midwest now. We are down to -10F overnight and highs during the day never left the single digits.

My wife and I got a "new" 97 Lincoln mark VIII to replace our trusty Thunderbird. I picked it up in Kalmazoo, MI last weekend and before driving the 500 mls home, I had the oil changed locally to CITGO 5w30 and a CL filter. I of course installed a bottle of ARX and used heavy dose of FP on my drive home to clean things up (the car only has 45,000 miles and is super spotless).

Question: Is there a problem with running ARX in the engine while temps overnight get down this low??? or is it fine once it is mixed with the motor oil.

ONCE mixed in the oil the Auto-RX used at the recommended dosage of about 2 ounces per qt or one bottle for the average auto sump, will not affect the cold start or pump of the oil.

The KEY is to install with the RX bottle temp well above 50F or it will thicken too much to pour easily.

Hey, its all natural chemistry and all the molecules are moving the same direction at the same time...

Good and appropriate question right now. Even cold here in North Texas the last few days.

I have a bottle (12 ounces of RX ) in the crankcase of Nissan Sentra 1.8L 4 cyl that is liquid filtering the Redline 5w30 ( has over 10,000 miles on oil) in there. Experimenting with dropping elemental levels using RX as a filter more than a cleaner. Note that my capacity is 3 qts so I am at 4 oz RX to QT which is a bit high.

No probs starting or running in the teens. I spilled some on the exhaust pipe and due to the flash of RX being 400 + the stuff won't burn off and has a very nice smell as it is cleaning the area in front of my Converter. !!!

Happy cleaning.

Thanks Terry !!
The temp of the ARX was well above 50F when I poured it in and it was nice and liquid.

Then immediately after the oil change/ARX addition plus 8 oz. of FP in the 18 gal. tank, I drove 500 miles back home all interstate. Added another 8 oz. FP to the next tank and will go back to 3 oz. per tank on the next fills. So I think I am well underway on this cleaning cycle. I'll do oil change and start the rinse cycle with havoline at 1500 miles.

After that, I'll switch to Amsoil TSO plus LC and continue with FP at the 3 oz. rate.
