Then you may not want to pour that bottle in your oil.

Come on, if you where that afraid of it causing leaks, then why did you start a thread trying to stir up an argument and you already purchased a bottle to use.

Because you DID want to start an argument.

And all we have on this board is the word of other users of products. You post results, good or bad. Then others post results, good or bad. What makes this board so great is that we don't have to trust a products testimonials from their website alone, we have this forum with a large number of members WHO use products and post their results for all to see.

You and I HOPE that the vast majority is honest and as you read posts and replies, you find posters that know what they are talking about.

I know your not saying that I'm lying, I know. But, I am honest and I did have a leaking seal and I'm not even finished with the rinse phase yet, and the leak is gone. And I have read the same thing happening to ALOT of other BITOGers.

OK, a couple things. Gary, I was responding to Molakule when he said there was no proof that the guys who claimed they got a seal leak when using ARX actually got a seal leak. My point is there is no proof of the good claims when people use ARX nor is there proof when there are bad claims. Which is fine, just don't point to the bad claims and say there is no proof.

CQUGR, I had bought my bottle of ARX then took a bit of time and started looking at the ARX mega thread (I had never noticed it before) and I started reading quite a few entries where people claimed to get seal leaks when they used ARX. So, as I was writing that item that you quoted I decided "rear main seal leak claims" was a nice defined issue to start a thread about. Because of this thread I have learned that the leaks often go away farther along in the ARX cleaning/rinsing cycles. Frank gave a nice explanation of why that might happen. I was truly just trying to get more information/explanation of that phenomenon. Plus, I hadn't actually put the bottle in my car yet. I could have changed my mind. (the bottle is now on the shelf in my garage)

As far as my faith in ARX, I am very skeptical of snake oil solutions for engines. However, after reading about ARX on this forum during the past few months I am convinced that it is an effective product. I have even been touting it on other Montero forums because our trucks are so prone to these leaky valve stem seals.

I find it funny to be accused of "trying to stir up an argument." Isn't that what happens in 99% of the threads on this board?

Winston- Don't worry too much. I was just as "skeptical" as you are before I took the plunge and bought 6 of them from Frank (I'm in Canada so shipping + duty ended make each bottle costs close to 35CAD!).

now I'm happy as a canadian clam!

btw: I am a provincially certified mechanic
