I always just take it to the self serve car wash.. the rinse is hot water and will take it off.
For a house wet n forget? is the best.

It would depend on how many spots I had, but what I'd most likely do is let them soak a few minutes under a rag or paper towel with warm dish detergent solution on it, then use a cotton swab in a dremel tool, with polishing synthetic wax on it. I'd test an inconspicuous area and examine with a flashlight before proceeding. When I was done I'd wax the whole vehicle, should make getting them off easier next time.

The one thing I discovered when I checked out several detailing sites and forums is that nobody had a clear way of getting it off. Just like this thread, there were many suggestions.

Even Mike Phillips had no clear answer.

Sounds like a good product opportunity if someone could develop one.

Have/had this problem on the Camry. My laziness has made the situation worse as the "spores" stained the paint. The only thing I've found to do on the older ones (1+ year) is to scrape off the the dots with your fingernail and then take denatured alcohol on a microfiber and rub the "stains" off. You can polish your heart out after removing the dots to remove the stains, but they ain't coming off without scrubbing. After using the microfiber and denatured alcohol you will need to do a light polish step as you will mar your paint finish.

I used a clay bar it worked but required some effort. I was looking for something a little easier but I guess there isnt an easier solution
