I read in the Chicago Sun Times Sports Section about a book describing the various drugs Armstrong took. I believe by a trainer of his who fell out of favor. Names and dates.
2 years or so ago.

It's irrelevant now that he admits it.

This is nothing more than witch-hunt because a bunch of other cheaters are hurt they were dominated by another cheater.
This whole prosecution is being conducted out of jealousy not for so noble cause if you believe otherwise you are only fooling yourself. I thought that I should of teach my children to keep a eye out for a woman scorned. I guess I should include jealous "self righteous men" also.

I will admit it also I am a former athlete and I use PED's everyday while I was training, practicing, and competing. I use performance enhancers today also you can buy them at your local grocery store and out of vending machines. I wonder what would of happened during the whole Capt Phillips rescue if me and my two other counterparts providing telecom support did not have our caffeine and nicotine working 8 straight 20-22 hour days for that whole mess.

It's hilarious watching people defend cheating simply because they think Lance Armstrong is a hero. He might be a pseudo hero for his inspiration to cancer victims, but the vast majority of people with cancer can't cheat their way out of that.

The moral of this entire story is, most "professional" athletes are just that - professionals at entertaining people. They should never be idolized.

^^^Could not agree more!

Admired at times, yes, idolized, or deified, CERTAINLY NOT!

They are, after all, human beings (even though it may not seem that way sometimes), with human faults, failings, and frailties.

BUT, the above goes for ALL sports/sport heros, as well as all other entertainers, pols, etc.

I think all of this should not minimize his talent and hard work. Keep the discussion civil gentlemen.

Yes, truthfully, even with the blood packing cheating, what he did (coming off of a death bed to even close to that level of fitness) was still amazing.
MOST on here just have NO CLUE WHATSOEVER the fitness/Max VO2/hematocrit/cardio-pulmonary level needed to compete for > 3 weeks straight at the top of that type of event.
Most would say, "how hard is it to to just ride a bike?".

And yes, his foundation does some EXCELLENT work and lobbying, and should NOT have to suffer because of this (he is stepping away for that very reason).

I saw the interview Scott Pelly (CBS 60 Minutes) did with Armstrong's former teammate and he spilled all the lies and secrets.

Fame, fortune, mega $$$ endorsements, being an icon placed on a pedestal for the whole world to see will drive many people to cheat. America needs more positive athlete role models like Tim Tebow with values and morals...

I had also read once that it'd be easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man to something-or-other. Perhaps he gets a pass for that one, too?

This isnt going in the right direction and is going to be locked quick if not taken back in an OK direction.
