I've noticed that as well, might have been the first Mazda 3 that really upped the game for interiors. My friend has a 2010 which is a second gen but the interior was super nice when he got it, now most interiors have caught up.

GM/Ford/Mopar used to be the worst. Mopar specifically, their interiors were really plasticy pre-bailout.

For me, it's generic oil. No way am I rocking store brand when I can get Edge or M1 for the same price on sale.

Probably... but I don't think of it as snobbish. I just know better than everyone else.

Serious answer, I spend a little extra on some things I probably don't need to. Synthetic oil when I could get away with a blend, RP or Fram Ultra filters when I could get away with Wix. Michelin tires (well, I tried a couple of alternatives and I really can't tolerate them so maybe that shouldn't make the snob list). Cabin air filters with activated carbon instead of plain, Goodyear (now Continental) hoses and belts, Autolite plugs.

If its any part that directly affects safety (tires, balljoints ect) or engine management ( maf, knock sensor ect) i almost always go oem. Most other things i dont need oem for.

Winter performance. 0w30 synthetic, snow tires, healthy battery, clean garage with a dry floor. I squeegie my "car water" off the floor into a dustpan/ bucket so it doesn't linger and exacerbate underbody rust.

So much love and hate for Michelins here! In the Corvette world the Michelins are very highly regarded, they are the OEM tires and they are a lot better than the Goodyears that GM went with for such a long time. And a lot of guys are raving about the Michelin AS3+ all seasons too, they are a safer tire in cooler weather since the OEMs are summer tires and the traction is not as good below about 40 degrees. That'll be the tire I go with on mine when my OEMs wear out.

I will also use nothing but Top Tier gas in this car too, and will avoid adding any fuel system cleaner of any kind.

When the time comes to replace the original battery I will stick with AC Delco but will use the Gold version (the OEM is apparently equivalent to the silver version)

My M235i came with Michelin PSS tires; they lasted almost 33,000 miles even though the car spent 3 days at an HPDE and one night at the local 1/8 mile strip. Replacing them with the identical tires was an easy call.
I put a set of A/S 3+ tires on my Club Sport; it's retired from track duty and never sees snow but I wanted a good handling tire I could drive in all temperatures. It's amazing how far UHP all-season tires have come; the car handles as well or better than it did on the summer track tires I used several years ago.

I am a snob about Chrysler . I just cant understand why anyone would buy one , i can undetstand a great lease deal but why would you own it ?

I have a buddy who is a Mercedes Benz snob. He absolutely loves taking it into the dealer and having them soak him on an oil change. Plus he has no idea what oil they put in but it doesn't matter because " certified" MB mechanics have chosen it.

For gas I pretty much only use Shell V-Power. Oil is usually Mobil 1, except in the 14 Mustang, that gets MC 5W50. Filters are OEM. Brake parts are OEM or Hawk pads. Tires usually Michelin, but I have scored good sales on Pirelli lately.

This and using high quality parts. I'll pay the extra money if it means I won't have to do the job twice or get stranded because of China garbage.

Also having all my lights working. I check them all every two weeks on my cars and the trailer. I hate when I'm behind a car that has most of it's brake lights or a turn signal out.

I'm also a snob about Chrysler products (see sig)... just can't see why anyone would buy anything else. By my last counting, close to 1.2 million miles driven in them in my life (over 200k on 3 different ones, over 400k on one, over 300k on the '66 in my current fleet), no unusual issues or lack of reliability. Quite the opposite compared to the other brands I've tried (GM in particular).

To answer the OP, tires. I try to stick to Michelin whenever possible. They've given me phenomenal service across a very broad range of vehicles and their UHP tires are arguably the best on the market.
