Not really, but the older I get the more I lean towards using OEM parts.
When it comes to my vehicles:
Michelin all season tires. (Preferred but have used other)
Amsoil Engine Oil / ATF / Gear Oil / Oil filters (trying Fram ultra soon though)
Fumoto Valves.
Krown Rust Proofing.
OEM Transmission Filters, Timing Belts, Alternators.
That doesn't mean I won't try new things but this is where it sits for now.

Oil filters. Just say no to anything Purolator. No problem with cheap Chinese, Champ, Wix, or Fram, though.

right lol i don't like Michelin either for that reason. My next tires are gonna be Vredestein Quatracs.

If you're talking about a personal preference for a higher cost product in some aspect of automobiles...then I would say that this board abounds with "snob" preferences...
But I don't see it that way. There are a lot of strongly held opinions here...some of them are even based on reason, too!

If you're talking about a personal preference for a higher cost product in some aspect of automobiles...then I would say that this board abounds with "snob" preferences...
But I don't see it that way. There are a lot of strongly held opinions here...some of them are even based on reason, too!
I stay away from the bottom feeder chinese parts including tires.
My snobbism is:....I never shop at Walmart !!!

No. The only thing that might come close is a preference for OEM filters. Otherwise, I just look at price vs performance, and pick the level I want at the time.
I do avoid Michelin but would buy if they can be shown to be a good value. 3 tries and all 3 had short life (one due to cracking after 2 or 3 years).
I guess I've been a snob and buying Toyota's lately but probably am coming to the end of that.

Ignition parts. OEM only, specifically for the Hondas.
My snobbery is not about brands, but about features and most definitely in one aspect - I love fully auto/digital climate control, would never buy a car without it, even though my local climate, even air con is not needed.
Engine management sensors and ignition parts should be OE manufacturer only, in my opinion.
Don't care for compact cars, give me a big ol' boat any day.
I lean towards synthetic everything.
Top Tier gas.
High Quality Synthetic oil.
Good detailing products.
Quality Tires.
As far as the car itself, I like a car that feels well made. Quality interior. It used to be the Japanese brands and European brands only had quality interior materials, while GM had interiors that were made by Fisher Price. Now most cars seem to have a higher qualit interior cabin build quality.
