I thought it was if you sell motor oil you have to take it.
I keep mine in a cat litter plastic bucket and dump it once a year or so at Walmart, or Oreilly.
One place did say well we can take the oil but we won't dispose of your used container. I was like OK I kept on keeping it anyways.
