Are any dino's better than Supertech Synthetic?

GC is a pretty heavy 30wt, and doesn't have great cold flow characteristics until it gets really cold. I use it in the summer and switch to PP in the winter. Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 achieves the GM 6094M cold pumpability spec. A number of other synthetics have it as well, and those would be my choices if using a quality synthetic. GC does not achieve this 6094M spec because it is too thick at low temperatures to meet it.
 
Whether or not to use a particular oil for longer drains you should not only be concerned if it is synthetic or not, but also whether it has an additive package that is appropriate for longer drain intervals. Synthetic base will give longer use before oxidation. Advanced additive package will provide protection at longer drain intervals.

My two choices this winter were:

Amsoil ASL 5W30
Pour Point -50°C
CCS Viscosity at -30°C = 5322


or

GC 0W30
Pour Point -61°C
CCS Viscosity at -30°C = 3200
*specs are for gold, can't find green specs

I ended up choosing GC based on those specs alone. Its currently -26 °C with windchill. Did I choose the wrong oil?

Nope, you chose well. People make FAR too big a deal that GC is on the upper end of the SAE 30 scale.

BTW, your engine can't feel windchill.

An car/engine "feels" windchill in the same sense that it gets better cooling at 50 mph than stuck in stop and go traffic.

If you park a car outside when it is 0 with -20 windchill, it will cool off a lot faster than it would without the windchill. But the engine (just like the human body) will never cool below the ambient temp (0 in this case), which is why people say the engine can't feel the windchill.
 
Wind chill only relates to SKIN and nothing else. It's the apparent temp felt by SKIN from a combo of air temp and wind speed.
 
As I said, the term "wind chill" does not apply unless we're talking about exposed skin. Your engine could give a frog's fat butt what the "wind chill" is. Wind speed, yes. Wind chill, no.

Agreed. HOWEVER, there are only two factors in the wind chill equation. Ambient temperature and wind speed. Both of which directly affect how fast a vehicle outside in the wind loses heat. Since both of the factors for wind chill affect how fast my engine cools down, it is silly to say my engine could give a frog's fat butt what the wind chill is.

If anyone is interested in the equation for wind chill it is:

Wind chill temperature = 35.74 + 0.6215*T - 35.75V^0.16 + 0.4275*T*V^0.16

Where:
T= Ambient Temperature (degrees F)
V= Wind speed (mph)
 
LOL, this got nitpicky.

"Windchill" is a B.S. formula that the news industry uses to exaggerate cold weather conditions. Last I checked, engine sumps don't aspire, so your engine oil will be the same temperature in the morning as the thermometer reads, not what the pretty lady on TV says "with windchill."

The temperature of the engine oil in the morning depends on at least five things.
1) Ambient temperature where the vehicle is parked
2) The engine's thermal time constant
3) Wind speed
4) Wind direction (relative to the vehicle)
5) How long the engine has been off.

As has been pointed out, airflow in the form of wind does affect how quickly engine oil reaches ambient temperature. And how cold the oil is in the morning is dependent on several variables in addition to ambient temperature. Though engines don't feel the effect of windchill, the speed at which an engine cools down is related (perhaps loosely) to calculated windchill.
