Are 2GR-FE timing cover oil leaks still an issue?

Have the timing cover oil leaks for Lexus 2GR-FE been resolved for the new builds? Specifically a 2025 ES350. Or is this a ongoing issue that affects all?

My understanding is it's a basic design flaw in how the covers come in contact with the block. To my knowledge, there have been no changes in these covers or the block for the 2GR-FE.

All engines have the same "t-joints."

Would it deter you from buying one? What percentage of the engines experience leaks over say a 20 year long ownership?

I found this comment on a YouTube video.

I'm considering buying an older 2008 Lexus es350 with a slight timing cover oil leak.
Not enough to make a spot in the driveway but enough to stain the suspension below.
Knowing the significant work involved in actually fixing it is cost prohibitive and not DIY friendly.

I'm thinking of cleaning up the area as best I can externally and applying either some gas oil resistant rtv or maybe even a thumb of JB weld pressed into the crack?
I know the jb weld is forever but this timing cover isn't coming off ever.

I don’t think J B Weld is forever, its not like an actual weld. That said, you could try, but I would question if it would work, getting it to seal and all.

If it is not marking the driveway then why bother? bit of oil on the frame is fine, some intentionally do that.

I guess what I meant by forever is that while some RTV isn't going to permanently damage the timing cover. Smearing some JB weld over it after it was clean with brake cleaner likely would never come off.
(The reality is this timing cover is never coming off regardless)
I think I'd be happy to just slow the seepage down so it's a little bit less and I think that would be a win
