Just like the title says only 2 oil changes done in the last 100k miles.... thoughts?
Since you asked, my thoughts are either it’s just a made up scenario to generate a sensational title, or someone is a mechanical idiot.Just like the title says only 2 oil changes done in the last 100k miles.... thoughts?
Agree. This is a perfect example of why you don't buy cars online...... Assuming it's true, which I doubt it is.Perfect candidate for Carvana.
What difference would it make if it's bought in person?Agree. This is a perfect example of why you don't buy cars online...... Assuming it's true, which I doubt it is.
If you're adding a quart every 1000 miles it's not all that bad.Just like the title says only 2 oil changes done in the last 100k miles.... thoughts?
Generally speaking, absent of modifiers like gear, trans, or ps, oil change generally refers to motor oil."....2 oil changes..."
Gear oil?
Transmission oil?
Power steering oil?
You can see for yourself what type of care it's had. If a person only changed oil twice in 100,000 miles, there is a good chance other things were neglected as well besides oil. How much can you tell from photographs and descriptions, over a personal, hands on inspection? What difference would it make if it's bought in person?
41K and only four quarts of new oil? That's still a no in my book.He has a uoa. @ 41k , I don't know why he didn't post it here. There were 4 quarts makeup oil added across the oci.

Nothing too concerning there eitherHe has a uoa. @ 41k , I don't know why he didn't post it here. There were 4 quarts makeup oil added across the oci.
Most sellers will prepare a car for sale whether selling online or in person by at least cleaning it up and changing the oil so you cant really tell that it was neglected even in person unless it's something very obvious. Now if you're talking about a 3 picture ad with a 2 line description, sure, better look at it first. But the cars I've bought online I haven't found any major unmentioned issues, and of all the ones I've sold sight unseen I've not gotten any complaints. You can see for yourself what type of care it's had. If a person only changed oil twice in 100,000 miles, there is a good chance other things were neglected as well besides oil.
Especially on a Turbo Diesel.Neglecting basic services like a oil change is throwing money in the trash. I just don't get it.
