I just changed the oil on my 2014 991 3.4 and found these metal bits in the oil pan. I have owned the car since 2016 and it has 37,000 miles on it currently I have done all the oil changes except for the first three I bought it with 2000 miles on it. The first two oil change were done yearly at about 1000 miles each and I had the third one done by a dealer at about 7000 miles. I have never seen any metal prior to today. The filter was spotless. There was nothing in it. They are metallic not ferrous and have some strength them they do not bend. I do change the oil yearly they look like a piece of casting that broke off something. Any thoughts? Car has good oil pressure idles normally not making any funny sounds. It is possible that something fell into the oil pan prior to the oil change but I highly doubt it because I have nothing metallic like this in the garage and I didn’t notice it, but I wasn’t looking for it either

Hi, ferrous or non? I'd try Rennlist and ask your local Pcar indy for their thoughts. Could be a piece of aluminum that went through the oil pumps.

I have had odd bits of metal in filters before with no further issues. I would seek some informed opinions and drive the car being very attentive to any unusual noises readings, etc. and do a short interval of 500-1000mi oil change looking at the filter, etc.

Good luck.

Thanks ! yes non magnetic. I will edit original posting. I will do an early oil change.
