slight specs of metal in filter

Just did an oil change on my 21 Cayman S, first done at dealer this would be the second oil change car has 6500 miles. I looked in the pleats of oil filter and I see what appears to be minute metal specs. Could this be leftover from manufacture of the engine. I have owned since new. I dont track vehicle just normal street use.

Send the filter and if you have the oil to Polaris Labs to analyze it.

Could be. Takes a while for an engine to break-in and for the particles to be rinsed out with oil changed.

Monitor over the next few oil changes, preferably at a shorter interval than required.
