Shortly after I met the woman who would become my wife, she asked me to look at the brakes on her Civic which were making a noise.
Turned out to be a seized caliper which I replaced with a rebuild. Easy and probably earned me considerable DIY cred with her,
Going forward, she has never questioned my ability to tackle any home or auto repair.
She's a CPA and I'm also a fiscal guy, so we tend to view things in a similar way.
Any work I can do she's all for, since it costs less for me to do it.
Telling me I can't do an oil change on any of our cars?
LOL!!!
You may have married the wrong woman.

Assuming you are talking about your wife. First off, do/say whatever is necessary to let her know these and other decisions are for you to make. Not her. Second, (no offense) I suggest you grow a pair.
