Api SQ and Ilsac gf-7 release date

Hi,
I have found that API SQ was suppose to be released on march 31, 2025, but when I look on the api website it doesn’t seems updated.
Do someone know if that the release date has changed ? I can’t find any official confirmation it has been released except for some engine oil company saying their product are now approved for this certification.

Castrol Edge is showing SQ and GF-7 approvals on thier US website. I'm going to have to check next time I'm out oil shopping. I'm betting product from all the major brands is bottled and ready to go, but is going to trickle out slowly as they deplete their old inventory. Should be some nice sales coming soon!

I doubt that the ESP line is great imo and doesn’t the 0w 30 have hths of 3.5 I believe

Well it does have VW 504 00 approval which is one of the most demanding.

And yes the minimum HT/HS for both the 5W-30 and the 0W-30 is 3.5. One of the reasons I buy it.

Not that great? Based on approvals, you’d be hard pressed to find a better off the shelf oil than the ESP line

IMO the ESP lineup is M1’s best. 0w20, 0w30, 0w40, 5w30, you choose.

It could be that many oils on the shelf already meet the standards and the oil companies.'s don't want to advertise until their stock is out.
