At least get the "author" to join - or read an "introdiction to tribology for dummies book". Anyobne tell frankn4 yet that the thick oil will seize his motor?!
Man...the question at the top in RED is pathetic...the dad has it backwards anyway...if it was a chevy pickup, then I could see running 30wt in the "Summer" not winter...

I was thinking the same, but then thought his daughter remembered it backwards.
No wonder there is so much misinformation - where did this supposed "expert" author come from? well, at leat he said to follow the OM - not terrible advice. Everything else was hearsay and bull-ogna
The supposed expert said:
"When you read an oilcan that has a viscosity rating of 5W20 it means that the winter flow rate of the oil is 5 (thinner) than the summer flow rate (thicker). Multi-viscosity oils thicken up in the summer when the temps are hot and oil tends to thin out. When it gets cold they thin out in order to maintain optimum flow rate in all temperatures."
