Any strange noises or anything? I'm thinking about picking some up since it's on special this month.

It's Valvoline Synpower in a NAPA bottle right?

I use it, and just posted a coupon that was mailed to me, making it $2.99/qt.

It's very close, but not an exact copy of Synpower. It works just fine for my 7,500 mile OCIs.

I am interested to. I just picked up a case and plan on going back for another case. Seems to be a cheap way of running synthetic on 5k intervals until warranty is up on my Tacoma.

Works fine when I have used it, and it is indeed produced by Ashland Oil who also produce Synpower. But it is not just Synpower in a NAPA bottle.

It's not rebottled Synpower. Here's what Ashland told me:

The NAPA Private Label Synthetic does carry a different formulation from our Valvoline SynPower. Though these formulation differences are not drastic, they are present. NAPA comes to Valvoline with a certain set of specifications that they want their oil to meet, and we formulate the oil per their request. These specifications however, are not as broad as the Valvoline standards, therefore the Valvoline will cover more applications.

The only strange thing about this is why are you using a terrible on the eyes font. Wag of my finger

Why don't you donate blood-plasma and get paid so that you can get your $20 lube from Royal Purple

AhHa! I was wondering when somebody would mention that.

I use that font for two reasons:

1. I dislike the way the standard font shoves the question mark up against the last letter of the last word. If it had an additional half a space for the question mark, that would make all the difference in the world.

2. I dislike the way the standard font makes the semicolon look all ghostly and faded out; almost to the point of being invisible.

Here's an example:

NAPA synthetic? vs. NAPA synthetic?
NAPA synthetic; vs. NAPA synthetic;

Of course most people can't even see the font differences unless they're using an up to date browser with up to date java scrip.

And an obsolete viscosity.

Oh, and quit using Windows. I'm going to hound you about that, too. If you used Mint, you'd see no difference between those two fonts you demonstrated.

Windows is full of imaginary nonsense.

There does seem to be some differences (maybe statistical standard errors of measurement) between respective grades. Maybe they are slightly different?

But if they were the same, I wouldn't expect Ashland to say so. Why would they admit that an oil selling for a fair discount over their labeled Synpower is in fact the exact same oil? Wouldn't make good business sense.

Using it in the '14 Silverado. Dexos rated 0W-20 and no issues.
