Anything better than a CX5 out there, yet?

It's a non-issue for me, but if someone has kids, I'd recommend an actual mid to full-size SUV like the CX9/Pilot/Tahoe if an SUV is what they want..
I think you still don’t understand that CX5 is actually family vehicle. CX9 is far from anything like Pilot, Atlas etc. I was looking CX9 thinking it might have more space than X5. Far from it. It is actually less useful. For family needs CX9 doesn’t play in the same league with Atlas, Pilot etc. Mazda completely missed trend here. They don’t have teeth to be competitive in luxury market, but made small vehicle for family SUV market. Here in my neighborhood, which is that stereotypical American suburb, bunch of families, schools, kids, you can see CX9 once in the leap year, but everyday you can trip yourself numerous times on Pilot, Atlas, sienna, Odyssey etc.

You are enamored and in sloppy love with your CX-5. Just pay it off and take those payments for repair or future vehicle fund.

Not sure with slightly used/certified prices now, my brother's Audi 2015 SQ5 an incredible vehicle/engine and actually quite reliable at 120k bought one year old certified.

I actually thought about getting a Mercury Marauder as a beater, but its really slow, and that kindof defeats the purpose of a fun beater. I still love how they looked and sounded though!
They were sweet looking cars!!

The CX5 works great for me, and they are absolutely all over the place where I live. They outsold every other model Mazda makes. I use it as an active single person's vehicle, and it works great. Is it less roomy than those others? You bet! It's also faster, and gets better mpg, and holds enough stuff for me, so it's a win all around!

SQ5 is awesome, my concern is maintenance (repairs) cost. Is the '15 using the current powertrain, or did it change since then?

By all means keep it . The 0-60 time you quoted is highly optimistic though.
It's just the test data Car and Driver generated. I don't know what it "actually" is, for "my CX5", though, but I do know it's faster on the freeway than a 2015 V6 Camaro, which ain't bad all things honestly considered.

Lol. So you knew all that, but you asking question is there anything better?
See you in month or two in topic: “is there anyone better than me and my car on the road?”

I gave criteria. You focused on a carseat. You're one of those people who is always right and always gets it wrong and can not understand why.

That vehicle is not an afterthought for me. My point is that those are rookie mistakes. And there are other rookie mistakes there, and my money is on the love affair between Mazda and rust. You do not do mistakes like this in an family vehicle and say: well, other than that, it is an excellent vehicle.
There are no criteria here. It is spring, people are out, and you wonder whether you have the right vehicle for neighbors.

If you enjoy it, hang onto it. I own the vehicles I do because I enjoy driving them and maintaining them. Once I no longer do, then I move on to something else. (y)

@Ws6 Hang onto the Mazda. Put a reputable tune on it, to unlock the full acceleration power potential without sacrificing reliability. Then continue with proper maintenance, and 0W40 in the crankcase. And then one day (when it depreciates to my price range) I'll buy it from you. There, don't thank me. lol

If I dont trade out now, I'll probably hold out until PEV technology matures and go that route.
