Anything better than a CX5 out there, yet?

Ah, I wasn't sure if it was yours or not. It did seem pretty random.

Flame suit is off for you now lol.

None of the VWs were my picks either but they were better than that Fiat. At least we agree on the GTIs and Grand Cherokees. The Fiat and Tiguan (n)

And now a jeep grand cherokee with the tiny engine, but like I said cars fulfill functions. Defining the owner isnt one of them, in my world.

Hmm, I remember a Challenger thread where you were promoting the 3.6 being just as powerful as the 5.7....

No, I was saying the v6 mustang and camaro were just as fast, or faster vs the 5.7 charger/challenger. I urged for the 392. Or if you just want the looks, the 3.6, because the 5.7 wasnt competitive anyway, so whatever.

Ps. The poster whined, but eventually took my advice.

Um. the little 4 cylinder motor in your soccer mom mobile barely wheezes out 250 hp while the V6 in my Jeep puts out 295 without the need for boost.

I would keep or if your heart so much desires replace with a newer cx-5.. if 0-60 times is all that important this may not interest you, but I would consider looking at the mitsubishi eclipse cross.. I lease so that may be why I'm not concerned with any bad rap mitsubishi gets from the BITOG community.

If you don't experience snow & salt in your region, keep the CX-5 longer. I can't define "longer". And yes, the CX-5 is a great vehicle in its segment and you seem to find that it fits your wants & needs. Nothing wrong with that!

If you're definitely in the market for another "like" vehicle then just get another CX-5 so you can indeed drive a new vehicle. :) At this time, you may not be happy with another brand so, I'd stay with MAZDA.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT, preferably 2010 vintage 😉

I really like the CX-5, my parents have a mid spec model with the NA 4 banger, it’s decent enough in terms of acceleration but handles great. The Ford Edge ST is kind of a sleeper… the 2.7 eco boost seems fun but that’s all I know about them.

OP, are you looking for that little bit smaller CUV?
In other words, do you NOT want the typical RAV-4, CR-V, Rogue sized CUV(even though the CX-5 competes directly) but want the more tightly packaged CUV in the same price segment in which the CX-5 plays in?...Or is it the the driving dynamics of the Mazda CX-5(or Audi Q3/Q5, Volvo XC40, BMW X-1, 2or3) type of CUV that you're looking for?????

...and mine is still much faster and more reliable. Trust me, I used to love "big" NA motors. Had a 7.0 in my 'vette, for example, but small motors with all forged components boosted to the moon are just better, technically speaking, even if they don't shake the whole car at idle (which I miss about that 427. Total animal).

The only thing against a 2010 SRT Jeep is the mpg. If I could find a low mile one for "cheap", that would actually offset that though, IMO. The Edge ST isn't much faster than my CX5, and my ex GF has an Edge, and it is very unreliable (just breaks a lot, random stuff, NAV died, windshield wiper motors died, etc.). Car and Driver got the CX5 and the Edge both at 5.7 to 60, and 14.4@97 in the CX5, 14.3@98 in the Edge. The quality it is of course not worth that to me.

Size of the vehicle doesn't matter as long as it has 6" or more ground clearance, and my 85# dog can make short trips to the vet and dog park in the "hatch" area.

Isn't that almost $10K over your $45K target?

Sounds like you want more power and something notably faster than your CX-5.

For $48K you can get a 2021 Mercedes AMG GLA 35.
I'd snag used. Any euro vehicle I'd buy 1-2 years preowned. No way im taking the euro hit. It's not a Lexus. The value bombs.

The GLA35 would be perfect. Sadly it's a new model.
