Anything better than a CX5 out there, yet?

Because we've had to hear about how **** amazing the CX-5 is and how you'd have to be an idiot to buy anything else every time you got the chance.

You should be stuck in a freaking Mazda for the rest of your life.
I mean, it was you who clicked the threads, yeah? Also, I never said you'd be an idiot to buy anything else, I think you're just mewling to be mewling, lol!

Oh man, don't even try deny your evangelism!

Honestly, If Toyota would turn down their "styling" I'd be into it. They have 3 good looking cars and the rest are weird transformermobiles.

Saying it's the best thing in its class and near it isn't calling someone an idiot, you picked that, lol. I am sure I'll be quite happy with the R4P.

That's a good way to describe them. The "bold new Camry" school of design has poisoned more than a few other manufacturers as well.

Yet, Toyota sells millions and millions of those “ugly” vehicles every year putting them at the top of automakers almost every year.
Based on their reliability and reputation, surely.

Toyota has never sold anything solely because of their wonderful design.

I do like the new 86 and Corolla HB.

Don't know why they had to swing so wildly.

Some middle ground between bland and "ow my eyes" would be great. 🤙
Toyota has the quickest non-luxury brand PHEV in North America, and people are saying their styling is too radical! What a time to be alive!

Mechanical and visual design are not the same thing. It's nice to see you switch crosses so quickly though.
I still like Mazda and think the CX5 is the best vehicle in its segment. The RAV4 Prime is in a different segment with a base price of $39K ranging up to $49K, and being a PHEV. The cheapest one you can buy costs more than the most expensive CX5 you can buy. They are aimed at two different things, the only similarity being "sporting intent" and their size.

Very true, I’m a Toyota fanboy but just because of their simple reliability.

Their current Camry is the first car they’ve had that to me, looks somewhat decent. I thought about getting a Hybrid SE Camry, but where was the fun in that

To me, reliability is paramount. If it doesn't work, all the time, I don't care how well it works WHEN/IF it does.

I felt that way too for a while.

But then I bought the Genesis, but with an extended warranty.

And then I just bought the Tesla. Which could be very good, but it could also be very bad. We shall see (rubs hands together like an evil villain)

You don't have to buy chick cars and grandma mobiles to have reliability.

I don't associate my identity with my vehicles, and I hope you don't either. I remember when I was looking at a BMW M3 and the Chevy sales rep went on and on about how only homosexuals would buy an M3. Yes I bought the Z06 instead of the M3, but not from that idiot. 75th Ranger friend of mine drove a VW Jetta. Stacked bodies like it was cool in Iraq. Delta friend of mine cruised around in a Honda Pilot, and would have gotten an Element if he didn't have kids. Sniper friend of mine turned DoD supplier LOVED his Subaru Forester XT (also had CL63 AMG, and actually preferred the XT for some quirky reason). I find it absurd to think you can associate a vehicle with a certain type of person. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Sorta like racism, but more socially acceptable, I guess.

I just can't make a pure PEV work for me. Range and infrastructure and convenience kill it. I have a friend who bought an Audi E-Tron, only to discover his entire state only has like 5 chargers that work with it. Talk about a buzz kill.

We'll see how it pans out. Shouldn't be hard for me, I live in the big city. Not many Tesla Superchargers in Phoenix (one is less than a mile from my house though) but there's other slower chargers. And I can charge at home. But I have other cars I can drive too.
