A few years ago, when I was more active on BITOG than lately, several people promoted this RMI-25 coolant additive. Is it still popular? While moving recently, I found my bottle of it. I'm about to change the G-05 coolant in my 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and wondered if I should add some as a maintenance dose. TIA.

I wouldn't waste my time using it. Hundreds of millions of vehicles do fine without it, why do you need it in yours, especially if your maintaining your cooling system?

What do you think that it will do for your Jeep?
OP here. As I recall, it helped to prevent corrosion and increased lubricity, and contaminants would eventually end up in the overflow tank where they could be cleaned out. I haven't had any problems with its previous use, so I may use it again since I still have the bottle. An online search shows some people use it about a month prior to coolant changes, assumedly to remove contaminants.

I'm getting to the end of the +15 hour RMI-25 cleaning cycle in the Lumina. I noticed that the filler neck of the radiator has a nice coating of oily/greasy brown stuff that is not water soluble. I'm sure this stuff is only in the filler neck/side tank and in the plastic coolant recovery...
