My father has one in his car... he has it on anytime the car is running...
Not sure it does anything really, but I suppose its supposed to work similarly to an ionic breeze...
He has had this thing from long before the ionic breeze...

Is ozone at such low concentration more harmful than beneficial?
I've had a HEPA filtering machine in my home for years, but I always questioned those ozone things, until one day when my questions were answered.
My Guard unit was having an NBC drill and one of the guest speakers was Michael Feeney, an air quality expert and NBC consultant to MEMA (Massachusetts EMA).
Feeney explained just how harmful those "ozone generators," or whatever they are called, can be to human health.
And since then I've steered clear of them...

Ozone will rot rubber and some plastics in a hurry in high concentrations.
Harmful. I just saw a report on the news where they have found that some of these machines can create more ozone indoors than you'd be exposed to outdoors on a bad day in Los Angeles. No thanks.quote:
