Do you have a GM Canyon / Colorado 4X4 with the 2.7 turbo / 8 speed trans? What is your opinion on how it runs, shifts, pulls on highway??? Not going to pull anything OR haul anywhere close to weight limit. Wanted some feedback before I drove one.
Thanks!!!!

I've driven a '24 Silverado 2.7L/8L80E....I was quite impressed.

I would test drive both the 3.6L & 2.7L.
2.7 is the only engine option in the Colorado/Canyon. It's a robust and virtually problem free engine.

The 2.7 in my Silverado is excellent. Also handles my 5000 pound trailer with ease.

I had a loaner Silverado 2.7T. It was only a few days but I can tell you, I love how it drove.

I am also interested and only test drove one lightly. Drive nice, but I am not an AT driver (MT Gen 3 Tacoma)

Those are the only engine/trans available. Narrowing it down to the specific model with options is fun/not fun. I don't like the combinations. I like some of the options.

Here is lots of chat:

I’ve been considering trading our f150. For me it would be a top contender if the passenger crash test was as good as the drivers side. It looks like they have been working safety in iterations, and they fixed the drivers side first - I would hope they follow with right side soon?

Well after I drove it, ...................I bought it. Dash is a little more space age than I like. But. The ride is excellent and acceleration is pretty darn good. Color me Desert Sand Metallic HAPPY!!!!! It's a Elevation 4X4.

I've been curious about that mill for a while. I like the later builds they used what seem like great components.

I recall Cujet (?) not being impressed wit the 2.7 though.

Assume the dash can be user defined. I got our Tahoe setup with less bling and more info. Wife says - I don't know why the dash has changed - but I like it and don't mess with it. Said I did that - she's says again - don't mess with it

I think many people can't accept a 4 cylinder in a full-size truck. It does drive pretty similar to a diesel engine.

I liked the engine just fine in the 1500. Most of the time it was completely unobtrusive and while not 3.5L Ecoboost fast, it had ample power. What I found annoying was the vibration at exactly 55MPH. It was then that I wished for the smoothness of a V8. As 2 cylinder mode just shook the truck and had me either downshifting or speeding up to 65MPH.

Since I was doing a long road trip on rural single lane (each side) highways, 55 was the speed to go, and cops were everywhere. It became frustrating.

MPG was good at 18 on reg and 19 on premium. Although I was going slow, the 2.7 Ecoboost achieves 21 on the same trip.

Good info.

Needs a mod for the cylinder deactivation.

I never cared about cylinder count myself - 4 is plenty when they are big enough, balanced well, and the holes have lots of air and fuel in them.
