Anyone loyal to one brand of oil?

I hope I don't come off sounding like some wild-eyed counter-culture guy, 'cause that's the last pigeon hole I'd fit into, but the mere idea of having any form of "loyalty" to an oil company makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up (turns my stomach too). IMO, loyalty is a two-way street. Oil companies are businesses that, like any others, exist solely to make a profit, and they do that pretty well. Being loyal to me, or any other member here just ain't part of their game plan. Odd, but I'm just not feeling the love when I'm standing next to a gas pump these days. No, in this arena, I'm loyal to my car and my own wallet. I'll use one product until the moment another product that I judge to be a better benefit-per-cost solution appears. Today, I'm on green GC, when that's gone, whatever I think is best, and to heck with the brand.

Heck no. I try many different oils. Just try to use the bigger brand names. The only one I have not cared for was Wally Worlds Super Tech. That stuff seem to sheer down bad after just a 1000 miles going by my oil pressure gauge when I tried it two years ago. I drain it out a 2K miles. No other oil before or since ran that low on oil pressure. Other than that anything is fair game.

Mobile erm, Mobil 1 and Amsoil EA filters because of the synergy of that combination with my engine.

I've been using Mobil 1 in my engines for a few years. This is more because Mobil 1 is easily available and seems to meet all the specs for the cars.
I want a synthetic because it allows me to change oil only once a year dispensing with a small hassle in my life.
I wanted to try Amsoil but the local dealer seems to have changed and I have not bothered to find out who replaced them.

My dad raised me up with Valvoline and Havoline, and I used that in my cars and QS in my bike until I discovered Amsoil, now I have Amsoil in everything. 10w40 motorcycle oil, gear oil, grease, fork oil, 5 or 10w30 for the Corolla, 10w40 in the pickup that has bad valve guides and smokes when cold. I used M1 long life stuff when I ran out of Amsoil and needed some oil quick, and then used the leftovers to break in my lawnmower and 4 stroke weed whacker.

I am not "Loyal" to Amsoil, I just think it works the best.

I get one check a year on each car. If the folks at Blackstone tell me I am doing OK I mostly keep doin' what I'm doin'.
I just hope I never get that phone call from them that says I'm about to blow up.

Quaker State for over 25 years, until about 4 years ago, when I started shopping for any name brands on sale. Must be gettin old (& cheap or smart).

I'd say UOA's are great, but there are so many factors to consider, you'd have to take a very wide average to get an accurate understanding because you'd get slightly different results from each engine, each brand, each driver and each season.

Certainly, there are are a number of good oils, but which is gooder than the other. Mine is more of an issue convenience, Amsoil is a good oil and I dont like to go shopping for oil, I like to have it delivered to my door.

valvoline 90% of the time, what i have been using for over 25 years

Castrol GTX exclusively for about 20 years. Lately its been either Havoline or TropArtic in the Chevy and strictly Motorcraft 5w20 in the Ranger. There is this local Chevron jobber that sells Chevron Supreme at $1.35/qt. everyday, that has me thinking.

Mobil 1/Delvac 1-5w30 in the Escort for 20,000km OCI's. Filter only changes at 10,000km intervals in between with op up at that time.

I'm experimenting with it to see if it'll ever develop an oil consumption problem given the extended interval.

RotellaT 5w40 synthetic's goin in the BMW this summer since I can't justify dumping the oil after 1 week of summer driving for the year...or else it'd get Delvac 1 5w40
