Anyone here use store brand oils?

Hello and do any of you folks use store brand oils in your everyday car/truck or beater vehicle? I will admit I have used some Super Tech 5W20 without issue.

I use Napa brand synthetic in my cars all the time. I stock up when it's on sale. My cars aren't beaters either; they're in excellent shape. There's just nothing wrong with store brand oils. Change it regularly, and the engine will outlive the rest of the car.

I just changed with Super Tech 5w-40, WPP stamped on bottom of jug. Too early to tell yet, but so far the engine feels smoother than when I had Pennzoil Conventional in there.

Yep, I'm using Super Tech 5w30 syn in two vehicles and have been for the last year. Best everyday price on syn, and I like the shape of the bottles! Also, always easy to obtain. I'm not particularly brand loyal though--I will buy some other syn if I can beat the Walmart price with a sale or a coupon.

I've used O' Reilly's house brand synthetics a couple of times in a high mileage Civic...not that I'd recommend it really. No issues, though I plan on sticking with known quality oils in the future.

Super Tech is Mobil conventional @ my Wal-Mart.

I only use shop brands if I know exactly who actually formulates it for them.

The only way a shop can make profit is with a mark-up, then don't know anything about oil therefore they want to buy the cheapest product that manages to scrape above any required benchmarks.

Just my opinion and also why I refuse to use supermarket fuel.

In both the NC and PA areas I noticed it is WPP or WNE stamped on bottles. Shape of bottles is same as wal marts WPP/WNE bottles.

Do you know if they formulate their own additive packs, or do they just re-bottle a complete oil from one of the major oil companies?

I put Auto Zone (WPP -- WNE) in my 2009 Yamaha V Star 650 last month for winter storage; I rode @ 200 miles on this OCI before winterizing it last weekend; I know it's NOT a car, but thought I'd share anyway

I use plenty of supertech. Haven't used it in awhile since I built up a sale oil stash.

Have used supertech in the past in a pickup I used to have (and currently use Supertech marine oil in my boat), but with Havoline being a few cents more, I use that instead. Supertech up here is Warren.

I am considering moving both of my vehicles to ST. They have a great line of oils and the ATFs are good too. Those who know use it!

I'll use house brand oil every time if it's a bargain. I used to love Supertech when it was more accessible for me. Same goes with Advance Auto and Auto Zone. With bottled oil prices where they are now, I'll grab Napa Synthetic when it's on sale for ~$3.79/qt.

Every so often Carquest will have their oil on sale too, but I haven't seen it in a long time.
