Anyone have weird dreams?

Nobody ever got into lucid dreaming ?

They are an awesome experience, sometimes scary.

BTW, if you die in a dream, you don't in RL (sorry Freddy). When I was about 10, I had recurring dreams of being stabbed to death...including pain, knife grating on/deflected by bone etc.

As a child, I had recurring dreams of soldiers in a WWII-era Army Jeep chasing me, and I couldn't run fast enough to get away. I would always wake up just before being caught.

I also had recurring dreams of being naked in public places.

The scariest dream I ever had was one where a random person shot me point blank with a big-arse, Dirty-Harry style revolver. I woke up just as I was blasted.

Nowadays, I dream about stupid stuff, like work.

I won't tell you where I heard it, but I have heard that it could be "past lives" that are making certain things known to you for whatever reason.

I'm not one to believe in reincarnation, nor do I want to start a religion discussion or war which will most likely get the thread locked, but this is what I have heard from a few different sources regarding dreams.

I was kind of wondering about the guy dreaming of snakes.....

All I know is:

a) if I eat aged cheese within several hours of sleep, it's "Hello Dr. Timothy Leary"

b) 51 years old and the only scary dreams are still about university 30+ years later. Either late to class, brain freezing up during an exam, forgetting somehow to drop a class and finding out I was still enrolled but not attending, not knowing the time and what class I was supposed to be in, etc.

c) I still dream of the one Chinese girl. She was nearly a life ruiner, or.......

I often have a recurring dream about college. It's week 12 of a 13-week semester and I forgot to attend one or two classes the whole time. I hear this a common dream for many.

Naked in public, old girlfriends, getting killed in war, flying... I've dreamt it all. Thankfully, most of my dreams are happy... better than real life.

Normally I don't recall much about my dreams within moments after I wake up. Recently, though, I've dreamed two scenarios.

One is about a young man who has a heart attack and realizes he's left his body and is looking down at it. His astral form, he notices, is dressed in a white suit like the ones in old SF movies, and it crackles and rustles when he moves. His mother, a famous stage actress, comes in, sees his dead form, and begins to cry. Then his father, also an actor, who died years ago, is there with him, wearing the same kind of rustling crackling white outfit. I woke up about there.

The second focused on an older man who has just rented a house. Something about the place is oddly familiar to him. He visits a buddy of his. During the evening a couple of the guys are watching a porn movie, and looking at it, he realizes that the house he is now renting was used to film the porn video!

I scrambled to make notes on both as soon as I woke up.

About a year or so ago, too, I dreamed a scenario in which I met and reminisced with Former Wife No. 2. The whole thing scared me silly, in the dream, and the effect carried over after I woke up. (Since she scares me in real life, perhaps this was not much of a dream.)

I did it for quite a while, but that was years ago. It's different for different people. Here's a link, scroll for the FAQ: http://www.erowid.org/spirit/dreaming/

I have a recurring dream that I'm on an aircraft that is having a hard time climbing. The type of plane, the airline, and the circumstances are always different, but the problem is always the same. The plane is always in a situation where it MUST climb but is laboring to do so. Upcoming mountain range, power lines, water, buildings, etc. In one of the dreams, there was a crash in the middle of some farm land and I was the only survivor. I remember running away from the burning wreckage and stopping to look back, and there was NOBODY else. The rest of the dreams always end while I'm still on the struggling plane.

Not sure what this means. I always figured it was somehow connected to my short career as a flight attendant.

I had this dream where I was in the room I was staying for a couple weeks. The door opened and the cliche'd grim reaper, no face, black hoodie, sickle was there for me.

Often if I'm in a new place I wake up and the room seems strange, so it was all the stranger I woke up where I was supposed to be.

I was

Hummm college dreams... For years I had the same dream that I went back to college. When I would wake up it seemed so real that I had to think about it for a few seconds... Did I really go back to school? What classes did I take?

Fast forward almost thirty years. At the age of 50 I was required by my employer to take seven classes at the same school I graduated from. Boy was that weird.

Maybe you just dreamt that.

Sometimes Benadryl (diphenhydramine hydrochloride) will cause me to have some notably out-of-round dreams. Codeine used to do it to me also but not so much any more- then again, I very rarely take any.

One recurring type of nightmare I have is falling off the wagon; I'm on my 25th year of sobriety now so I kind of expect these to happen. On more than one occasion I've dreamt I was driving up Dravus Street in Seattle and when I neared the top of the hill I would fall backwards (it is one STEEEEEEEEP hill!).
