Anyone have experience buying tires from tire agent?

I have a 25% off offer from my credit card company that would save me $220 on the Continental's I want. I always worry about getting old or returned tires off of these type of sites and the hassle of returning them.

You could try calling and speaking with their customer service about the date codes?

Did you read their FAQs page? (based on what I am reading, I would move on...)

Are all the tires that you sell new?

Yes, all the tires offered on tireagent.com are brand new and have never been used or mounted on a vehicle before.

How old are your tires?

All of our tires are new and never mounted. Most of our tires are within 1-2 years old, but on occasion depending on the popularity of the size and model of the tire it may be older. We do not sell tires that exceed 4 years old from production date.

Can I request DOT codes or a specific year of production for a tire?

We offer over 1,000,000 tires and ship from many warehouses nationwide. We are not able to check each tire for the date of production, but we do not sell tires that have DOT dates exceeding 4 years old. If you receive a tire that is older please let us know.

I sent them an email but will probably call as well. A few years ago I was looking at tires on one of these type of sites and they said their tires could be up to 5 years old when I contacted them.

Can I send items back if I change my mind and no longer wish to keep them?

Our return policy is if your item is unused/mounted and in its original condition (packaging, stickers, etc) you are eligible for a return within 30 days of purchase. Customers are responsible for return fees if the return is not a result of Tire Agent’s error. https://www.tireagent.com/returns

If the purchase is later than 30 days after you used a lease to own payment plan you will be allowed to return used products to them directly. Please contact your leasing or lease to own payment plan company for more details.

wow 5 years old, and tire manufacturers were saying to replace tires between 6-8 years old. They kept moving the goal posts as to how old was too old, but that's what I remember.

25% off, I get it, that's important for anyone's budget, but 25% off that old of a tire? Not thinking it's worth it for that discount amount.. sorry but it doesn't sound like a good place to get a good set of tires.. 🙁

Ah ...... Mmmmmm ........ Not exactly

I think you'll find that most tire manufacturers say the time starts when the tires were applied, not when they were made.

oh is that how it is, ok thanks for clearing that up. I always thought it was a rule no matter if it was installed or stored 6-8 years. but.. I guess I'll still be a tire snob and want something newer than 5 years old even if it was stored. That's just me.

Yes but my credit card company is offering 25% cash back if I buy from tire agent.
I used them a few months back with a 15% cashback deal. No problem. New Yokos that have only been out for a year-ish, so no comment on date codes. (Geolandar CV 4S G061 - trying them in snow soon)

Also found another coupon (J823) and cashback click-through with either Rakuten or BeFrugal - whichever had a higher % a few months back. Way better deal than any other websites or local shop could ever match with the CC deal.

Go for it!
*I'm a sucker for maximizing deals, if you can't tell

They're offering 30% cash back now. May have to take a chance.
