Anyone have a waste oil heater?

Any of you folks with a shop or your own garage use waste oil heated? Our techs from Imperial Hoist down road from work day they are a pain to keep operating. I know some friends that use them in their garages.


When I went to Crawford Tire yesterday to have them change my oil; the Ernie’s Waste Oil truck was there. He told me he hails it to Ohio for cement kilns.

My CleanBurn has well over 30k hours at 24 yrs old.
Have two burners. Rebuild one at the end of the season (8 hours/$175 in parts).
Put the other in service for the next year.
They can be problematic if not maintained properly.

My mechanic has one. Installed it maybe 10 years ago? He told me that several months after he started using it the utility company sent a guy to check his gas meter because he was hardly using any gas anymore. I keep bringing him my used oil and he keeps thanking me...
