Anyone ever used a FRAM 3600 in place of a PH 16 on a truck?

I’m bout to remove the Toyota filter from the Dakota and have 4 Titanium FS 3600’s wire backed. Wonder if this filter will fit. Dakota is 2wd and 3.9 v-6. Spec filter is slightly shorter ph 16

Thank You

I have used a few 3600s on my Jeep 4.0 and Jeep 4.7 for 3k runs when I first got them. No issues other than the looked funny being so skinny.

As long as you have the extra 1.5 inches for length clearance yes. The 16 is wider and shorter but the gasket id and od are the same as the 3600 so it will seal perfectly.

I have used 3600's in place of 4386's on my 2007 Camry 2.4L, so you should be fine. The 3600 is a much bigger filter and fits just fine.

I did recently switch back, however, after learning that the bypass relief pressure on the 3600 is around 5psi or so lower than the 4386. I just started running VRP so I don't want that triggering early if it moves a good bit of carbon.

Your filter mounts straight up and down. Mine mounts at a pointing outward/up angle. Plus the engine cradle is close to it. I’ll try later today.

So my AAP either didn’t have a CQ premiums or guy was lazy as 💩💩💩💩

Here’s height difference

You can also use the old Ford size of FL1A or it's Fram equivalent of PH8A. They're about the same width as the size 16 and about the length of the 3600.
No I can’t. Already tried. It didn’t clear the engine cradle. So if it’s same length as a 3600 I will return this CQ filter 🤬
