Anyone been through a worker's comp settlement?

I'm trying to figure out if worker's comp can be affected by, or negatively affect, applying for social security retirement benefits. The person in question is of full SSA retirement age.

The only information I can find is that social security DISABILITY can be affected by worker's comp, but I'm talking about RETIREMENT.

WC rules should be set by state law. In Illinois I do not see this as affecting any SS payments as the income from a disability settlement is not taxable.

WC is a funded insurance program...and if full retirement age I don't think any income stream changes SS payments.

I am 69, getting my SS and can work for any level of income with no reduction in SS payments.
