I've had it for years and the problem is sometimes the wheel studs are so long that the center of the holder is too short and doesn't let the abrasive contact the hub. Anybody use another brand that works better in that regard?

I've had it for years and the problem is sometimes the wheel studs are so long that the center of the holder is too short and doesn't let the abrasive contact the hub. Anybody use another brand that works better in that regard?
For nothing else. Drill or angle grinder to clean the rust around the wheel studs.
A little more time consuming, but I use a wire brush.
3M 07545 (Included in kit # 07547) will accept 14mm or 9/16" wheel studs up to 2 3/8" long depending on how worn the abrasive pad is, 2 3/8" is longer than most wheel stud protrusion.
That's weird. Maybe I'm not pressing hard enough, but it feels like the holder is bottoming out on the wheel stud and the abrasive is barely touching the hub. Especially the upper left one.
