Do any of you guys use any CAT tools, specifically hand tools, and if so what are your opinions?

I recntly learned about them. Supposed to be snapnon without the price.
If appearance is any indication, they're re-badged Snap-on, at least from the pictures I can find on CAT's website. I think I'm going to pick up a 3/8" ratchet and see for myself. There is a CAT dealer with one in stock close to my work. Prices are around 30-40% vs. Snap-on. We shall see.

Not all of them, only some.

And the ratchets are not a highly coveted item.

I went to the CAT dealer and picked up their 3/8" enclosed head ratchet based on the part number from the CAT website that looked to be an identical match to the equivalent Snap-on ratchet. The CAT ratchet I got appears to be a re-badged Williams JHWB-52EHA ratchet, not Snap-on, at least in appearance. Interestingly, the patent #6125722 on the CAT ratchet does come back to a Snap-on patent; is Williams part of the Snap-on family?? Turns out I paid more than I should have for a 36 tooth ratchet, but at least I've got one more ratchet in the toolbox, and it's made in the USA.

Yes, Williams is a Snap-On brand.

Comparison of the Snap-on ratchet (at work) vs the new CAT 239-6824 ratchet:

Apparently a lot of the tools are SnapOn but it's not safe to assume they all are. Sockets seem to be one of the greatest values.

Literally the exact video where I found out about the CAT tools :)
I have a bunch of CAT sockets and one set of Snap-On, they appear to be identical.

Some of the other stuff varies between older SO lines and some Williams(which also is a lot of old SO lines).

I think the sockets are the best value.

I suspect the (Williams style) CAT ratchet I got may have been new old stock, because the ratchets on CAT's website are clearly identical to SO. Then again, maybe CAT hand tools are a mix of this and that. 🤷‍♂️

What is the tooth count of the CAT ratchets on their website?

Retail.....Epiq toolbox's are expensive but the accessories are STUPID expensive, Seen to many mechanics get sucked in & buy $20,000 in accessories for a $10,000 toolbox.
Then again, I see young guys driving around in decked out $80k+ diesel trucks every day, hauling nothing but air. I guess money isn't a concern to some people.
