But that’s the point of the speed bleeder. That it has a seal that avoids the air pullback. So you don’t have to hold the pedal down and close the valve.I never had that problem. Air will only be sucked back in when the pedal is allowed to return to its natural settting after pumping the pedal.. The pedal must be held down until the bleeder screw is tightened.
I have been using Speed Bleeders for many years without any issues on a number of cars. I'm talking about the actual brand Speed Bleeders rather than similar products by other manufacturers. I get the stainless steel versions.
Stahlbus makes nice looking speed bleeders. A bit pricey. If anybody here has tried them, please let us know how you like them.
I assume your experience in using them as a one person self-bleed situation. Do you put anything around the threads? I know @The Critic has spoken about vacuum pulling air back in, and. Obviously there will be some level of vacuum as the pedal and pads retract, even on a bleed setup. I’m interested in these as well for older American vehicles that don’t have an easy setup for a motive bleeder.
