The final release of Ubuntu 12.10 is now here.

After religiously updating from Ubuntu 6.06, I am starting to loose my Linux zeal. My family members all prefer XP for everything - downloading pics from camera, Picasa, games, speed (explorer vs nautilus), running educational CD's ad nauseam.
Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS is a disappointment. I was expecting rock solid and robust but it is randomly flaky - this on the same hardware that runs XP fine. Having said that, I have 12.10 loaded on a flash drive ready to test ... if I'm overcome with curiosity.
