The instructions state to add to existing oil. I'm coming up on the end of my OCI and about to do my first ARX ever on my LT1 with 114k miles. Seems like it would be better to start with new oil...? I run dino.

Also, should I run two cycles with this amount of miles? Car has a moderately noisy valvetrain, which from what I gather is common for the LT1 anyway. Runs good but isn't it's old self.

Thanks

Well I found the FAQ which seems to suggest the only reason for using old oil is if you don't wanna splurge on new.

The FAQ also states over 100k go for two treatments.

Any thought appreciated, otherwise I'll change to new oil and filter, clean then do it all again.

I am guessing, using fresh oil with auto rx, is the best. Because the old oil in thier now, may have sludge, old stuff and particles circulating around, plus in your oil filter. If new oil helps to clean things up a little, then iwth auto rx, seems to make more sense to me, as everyting is fresh, and ready to clean!

Most oil's have 1500 miles of life left, so why spend more money for the cleaning phase ? The only exception are the applications for "Heavy Oil Burning/Sludge Issues.

Engines over 100,000 miles need two applications because Auto-Rx cleaning capbility pretty well depleted in 100,000 miles.

Please read the FAQ and follow the correct application for your engine.
