Any reason NOT to run 0w20?

New GM V8 trucks take 0W-20 Dexos - that's a huge market all by itself.
 
This sounds like a good plan for winter that may do some good and won't do any harm.
Any 0W-20 you can buy at Walmart would be a no-risk replacement for 5W-20.
This might not be true of the very high VI Japanese 0W-20s.
 
Would agree that out of the bottle should work just fine.

But potentially at end of life of the oil, the 0w-20 will be sheared closer to it's lower rating compared to the 5w-20.

So it may matter only if you're extending out your oil changes really far (see guy who doesn't change his oil at all, or toiletpaper filter kooks).
