This is a solid one for a 0w-20, their 30 is as stout. I will appreciate the users of this oil chime in. It has one big edge over other Boutiques, approvals.

I am using/have run Ravenol VSE 0W20 & VSW 0W30 in my '21 Audi SQ5 Sportback and '23 Audi RS5 Competition Coupe, respectively.

5k OCIs. Very good UOA results (I've posted them in the UOA forum here on BITOG).
I will check them thanks.

I have used the DFE 0w-20 in my Subaru OBW. However, currently I have Ravenol FES 0w-30 in the Subaru. Not sure what to say about it; I’ve never done a UOA.

It's a bit of a mystery what exactly is meant by USVO and Clean Synto, but I believe one refers to mPAO and the other to AN.

I like this oil, low Noack, high flaspoint, low density (points to a lot of PAO content), decent tbn.

For me 2.78 cP HTHS is too far on the low side, but if you're dead set on a 20 weight this looks like a good one.

It has pretty much all the approvals that off the shelf oils have. Or what am I missing?
It does, but it has low HTHS and an ILSAC additive package which is fine but you can get higher HTHS and Euro additive package in other oils they sell which many here favor.

Before spending Ravenol money, check out some of the UOAs here. I used DXG, and although those were tested by Blackstone, subsequent tests by actual labs that use GCMS showed my truck had less than 1% fuel after 14.4k on HPL, but when I used Ravenol it had sheared well out of grade in just 6k miles with no fuel present.

Outside of their SSL (which has changed formulations since I used DXG) I would say it’s very hard to make a sane value argument in favor of Ravenol. The Amsoil is very good, and you can likely get 2 Amsoil oil changes for the price of a single Ravenol change, which is definitely the route I would take if those are your 2 choices.

As kschachn and Overkill have pointed out, there’s literally nothing special about this version of Ravenol, certainly nothing that points to being worth more or better than anything on the top shelf at WM.
