Any opinions on Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3?

I am considering Pirelli Scorpion AS+ on my Tahoe.

Sam's has them for a little over $900 - DT will match. Michelin Defender LTX M/S2 are over $1,200 - so $300 less. Like getting one free.

I see all the reviews and comments are smaller vehicles - anyone running Scorpion AS+3 on a full size truck or SUV?

My 2007 Tahoe still runs great with 65K miles - but I think this will be the last set of tires I buy for it.

My first thought is they are designed for SUVs and trucks - and this could explain why some people with small light vehicles think the ride is firm.

I sort of want a firm feel on a full size SUV.

EDIT. I don't know why that line is bolded I did not bold it and I can't "un bold" it either.

I've read some reviews of the AS+3 on half-ton Rams, people seem to like them but it's going to be subjective.

For the price difference between them and the Defenders, I would probably buy the AS+3 again for my mid-size (but chonk) GLK250.

If they were the same price, I'd have gotten the Michelins since that's what I was running before and was very pleased with them.

I do notice a bit of tram lining on interstates that have those longitudinal grooves in them. It was very noticeable when the tires were brand new, it's a little less noticeable now with about 3.5k on them. Maybe I'm just more used to it now, who knows?

In any case, if you don't travel often (or long) on that kind of pavement, all you'll notice is a very taut ride even at the lower end of inflation per your vehicle's requirements (they are XL rated...) and excellent body control, grip in wet or dry, and (at least in my case) a very quiet and composed ride.
