Any old codgers remember Al Bell coming to school?

He used to travel the world and document his stuff. Came to our schools and did a show, story and lot's of pics.
In grade school, we would all get together in the gym for his presentation. Always looked forward to him.
For myself, this would have been in the 1960's.

I just Googled him...seems it was more of an Iowa thing.

I grew up in Council Bluffs and went to grade school in the 60s. I don't remember him, but I wouldn't consider that area rural.

I never heard of him but original presentations and breaks from established routines were always welcome.
If he didn't come across as condescending and knew his 'age ranges', I'll bet he was good.

That was ART Bell. Enjoyed his show when I did a few really early morning road trips.
